cover plates for bath faucet handles?

I am replacing an 8″ spread bath faucet and there is a 1″ ring of discoloration around the holes for the hot and cold water valves (even after cleaning). The replacement fixtures I bought leave this area exposed. Is there some sort of after-market trim ring I can buy to place between the counter-top and faucet valve to cover this?
Allow me to clarify. I am replacing the 8″ bath faucet with and similar type 8″ spread faucet. So I’m not looking for a cover plate that just hides the two outside holes. The new handles just have a smaller diameter than the original ones so more of the counter-top is visible. I have seen escutchens for the faucet itself, but nothing similar for the handles.

Take the faucet handle off and take it with you to your local hardware store like Ace, True Value, Lowe’s, Home Depot. They can fix up with with what you need and will most likely have several different kinds to choose from.

How much would it cost to put in a basic half-bath?

I’m looking to purchase a home but most of the homes in my price range only have one bathroom. I’d like to install a half-bath below or above the other bathroom or near washer/dryer hook ups. My dad is an architect and has actually built some basic dwellings himself (but not plumbing work) and he will work for free to do permit work/building codes/design and all that. But I guess what I’m looking for is an estimate for everything an architect couldn’t do minus the fixtures. What would the difference be in price between a half and a full bath?

Handyman would be the cheapest….one that can do plumbing, carpentry, drywall, elect, and finish work….about 200.00 dollars a day…..2 days if he needs to chip into concrete to get to the main drain and rough-in the plumbing …rough-in framing and elect rough-in the 3rd day….4th day drywall…. 5th day paint and tile the floor ….6th day finish work….so 6 x 200 would be about 1,200.00 dollars labor only….if in arizona I’m looking for work

I’ve just bought a post-war 1940′s(ish) house and wondering how I should decorate it? Any idea’s?

I really wanted the Metters stove and claw foot bath kind of look but I really worry that it’s not going to suit. The house is cream inside and out, with a large red brick fireplace/chimney on the front of the house. I’m wondering what colours to use inside and out, and what sort of fixtures and fittings will suit. Does anyone have any ideas for me – or suggest websites where I might find ideas? Thanks.

You can use porcelian on enamel as accents in the kitchen, as a trash can in the bathroom, as containers ofr plants, as canisters, as magazine holders, etc.
